Vegan Hacks: What to eat, see and do at Dublin VegFest 2018

in
by Lana McGhee
Ireland’s biggest and best vegan festival, Dublin VegFest is happening this weekend in Dublin.

We’ve been to loads of these events in the past couple of years all across the UK and Ireland and the choice of food, drink, and other vegan products just keep getting better. We attended the Cork VegFest early this year and were blown away by the amazing things on offer.

With so many stalls supplying a huge variety of vegan food, beauty, and clothing, it can get a bit overwhelming for first-timers!

To help you out, we have put together a guide of some of the best things we’ve seen and tasted over the years so you can leave with a happy, healthy, full tummy.

Wellnice Pops

Our first encounter with Wellnice Pops was at Body and Soul Festival a couple of years ago – these magical popsicles are full of zesty flavours and absolutely none of the bad stuff. They are made with 100% cold-pressed vegetable and fruit juice and frozen to perfection. We recommend the Lemon Sucker (lemon, pineapple, yellow pepper) it’s a party for your mouth.

Magic
Mayan

These raw chocolate bars are to die for. Available in 14 different flavours, they are 100% vegan, gluten-free and organically sourced. They can be a little hard to find, being sold mostly in health food shops, so whenever we see them (especially the Mighty Mint) we grab them!

Moodley Manor

These guys are game-changers. On their Facebook page, they say they are ‘Making Vegan Easy’ - pretty accurate. If you miss meat, you have to try their range of vegan meat substitutes is out of this world. Our fridge is never without their Badass Bacon.

Skinfull Affairs

These guys not only stock an extensive range of cruelty-free beauty and skincare products, but they’ve taken it one step further and set-up a whole vegan salon in Dublin. They offer a myriad of vegan treatments from facials to henna and beyond and are pioneering the vegan beauty industry.

There will also be lots of wonderful talks and demos on from the likes of Holly White, Aine Carlin, Leo Venus and more. There are still tickets on the Dublin VegFest website.

One last tip, get down nice and early as a lot of the best stuff sells out early. If you can't make the Dublin VegFest this weekend you can still shop the majority of exhibitors online as well as our own vegan leather collection of bags, belts, wallets, and watches from the comfort of your own home.
